Muscle-Building Tips For Naturally Thin People

Believe it or not, if you’re one of those skinny guys in the gym, you’re not alone. There’s nothing better than knowing you’re admired and are talked about as if you’re a local legend. However, this can prove to be a difficult task to accomplish especially if you are skinny. Rest assured it isn’t entirely impossible as you can go from being the skinniest to the biggest dude in your gym. If you wish to learn more about it and how to make it possible, read on to find out some very simple muscle-building tips.

Challenge Yourself

Instead of staying clear of challenges, it would be a good idea to take them head-on. If others are warming up to weights that are challenging and you aren’t, it does not mean you’re any less than the others. You can start by setting goals for yourself.

However, it would be wise to be realistic while setting these goals. Once you’ve reached that goal, you will realize your motivation will increase tenfold. This can then be used to fuel your exercises, keep telling yourself that it will happen. You’ll be amazed at how much progress you can make once you’ve hit your target.

Accept Yourself the Way You Are

Before you even consider challenging yourself, you have to understand you have to start somewhere. As frightening as it may seem, you need to take a leap of faith and trust yourself and your abilities. Once you’ve conquered your fears, you will be able to overcome any obstacle that may be headed your way. Even though isn’t easy, it is entirely possible. The sooner you get over your insecurities, the sooner you’ll start making progress.

Have Plenty to Eat

Many people will advise you to eat as much as you can. As rational as it may seem, it is not going to help unless you eat healthy. You must have as much food as you can as long as it is healthy, unless you want to be the fattest guy around.

You should focus on foods like veggies, egg whites, chicken, turkey, tuna and whey proteins. There are countless other alternatives that can aid your cause but you must consume at least 1.5 grams of protein and 2.5 grams of carbs per pound of body weight along with healthy fats, including seeds, fish oil and flax.

Stick to Compound Lifts

Even though they are the most basic of lifts, compound lifts will prove to be highly effective at building muscle. Rather than doing what you think is best, focus on the basics. Sticking to squats, rows, bench presses, dips, deadlifts and pull-ups are ideal forms of workouts if you want to increase your muscle mass.

Drink Lots of Water

You should remember to drink as much water as you possibly can. Learn to love it, make it a part of your routine. It is worth noting that water makes up 70% of your muscle and thus it is only logical to drink more of it for stronger and bigger muscles. Drinking at least a gallon of water every day is recommended.

Avoid Supplements

As tempting as they may seem, supplements aren’t going to help you unless you eat and train like you’re supposed to. Unless you are eating and training properly, you will end up wasting money and time which could’ve been invested elsewhere. This makes it important for you to get your diet and training right and then choose the right supplements.

If supplements are a must for you, then make sure you seek some advice from a nutrition specialist or even a doctor.

Never Say Never

If you’re not getting the results you desire, you may end up getting frustrated. This can eventually lead you to quitting your exercise routine. Rather than quitting and starting all over again from scratch, you must learn to endure and overcome all negative feelings.

The road to muscle-building is long and stressful. You have to realize that the biggest guys in the gym have worked hard to get where they are today. These big guys were not born this way. At one stage of their lives, they were just the same as you are. Perhaps you can look upon them as your inspiration and strive to work hard and be willing to go the extra mile and make an effort to succeed.

Keeping these factors in mind, it is safe to say the journey towards muscle-building will be worth it. Rather than stressing yourself, learn to enjoy your routine and exercise. As your physique improves, you will eventually reach your ultimate goal thus making it an enlightening experience once you reach where you intended to be.
